paiN finalize BLAST Premier Spring Showdown NA team list

With the Brazilians locking in the last spot at the tournament, the North American Spring Showdown team list is now set.

paiN have managed to win the Ace North American Masters Spring 2022 against ATK and qualify for the upcoming BLAST Premier Spring Showdown North America, which will start on April 27.

Both ATK and paiN didn't drop a single map in the entire tournament leading up to the grand final, with their respective AWPers, Gabriel "⁠nython⁠" Lino and Jonathan "⁠b0denmaster⁠" Bodenmalm leading the way in terms of rating.

paiN got to the final with a win against TeamOne in the Brazilian derby, while ATK managed to beat Kory "⁠SEMPHIS⁠" Friesen's Gaimin Gladiators with a superstar performance by Rhys "⁠Fadey⁠" Armstrong. It is worth noting that ATK were forced to use Johnny "⁠JDubs⁠" Wu as a stand-in in place of one of their European imports, Erik "⁠truth⁠" Hansen Dyrnes.

The grand final between the teams started off on ATK's pick of Dust2, where the Brazilians dominated the early rounds of the half. But as the half went on, ATK were able to win a few crucial rounds on the B site as the half finished 11-4. ATK started the second half with a pistol round win but were no match for the paiN terrorist side with the map finishing with a 16-6 score.

Vertigo began much better for the international squad, as they were quick out of the gates and managed to get a 6-1 lead. Due to the close nature of the rounds, ATK's economy suffered in the coming rounds with the Brazilians taking advantage of their opponent's shortcomings and mounting a decent comeback to get the score to 9-6 in favour of ATK. Once paiN got to the defensive side the teams traded rounds throughout the half with paiN managing to close out the game with a 16-13 win on the map.
